We love empanadas!
During the first weekend of October, the German capital will celebrate with eight venues, the first international festival of Latin American empanadas. The aim of the event is to promote Latin American culture in Germany through a dish that brings together a diverse continent: the empanadas. We all know what they are but each region has its differences and specialties. The 1st Festival of Latin American Empanadas celebrates this diversity.

Organized by the Spanish-language magazine from Berlin to the world, Lado|B|erlin, eight of the most significant places in our city have come together to specialize in different styles of empanadas: Argentinean, gourmet, Peruvian, Tucuman, Chilean, from the Altiplano and much more.
During the three days of the festival, visitors will be able to walk around the city helped by the official map of the event in order to find the restaurants located in the different neighborhoods of Berlin: Prenzlauer Berg, Kreuzberg, Friedrichshain, Bergmannkiez, Friedenau, Moabit, Lichtenberg, and more.
This edition has the following participating restaurants: Gloria P.Berg y Kreuzberg, La Criolla, La Despensa, El Chilenito, Como en Casa, Mia y Leo, La Picá de Deli Mel that will offer their menu with a 10% discount to visitors who post a picture of the restaurant with the hashtag #EmpanadasBerlin and tag the restaurant and the magazine Lado|B|erlin, @ladoberlinmagazine.

Germans love Latin American empanadas. For over five years, restaurants specialized in Empanadas have been growing exponentially in Berlin reflecting how much locals love this dish and Latin American culture.
During the festival, hygiene and health rules will be respected due to the CoVid-19 pandemic.
