Dear concert audience,
I am looking forward to welcoming you again to the Waldbühnenkonzert with the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra in 2017. In recent years, this open-air concert in Berlin has become a wonderful tradition – and we would like to continue it!
The young musicians of the ensemble come from Israel, Palestine and other Arab countries. All of them are outstanding artists who are willing to bring along – in addition to the spirit of music – an open ear for the experiences and perspectives of their colleagues from the different countries of the Middle East. In the circle of the West-Eastern Divan, this utopia works. Especially in difficult times, this is particularly important and we want to carry this message back into the world in 2017. The Waldbühne, with its great audience, is a particularly suitable place for the joy of playing and the special spirit of the orchestra. We would be delighted if you also want to celebrate music and the dream of understanding across all borders.
